Is it okay to mostly just watch the discussions and maybe ask a few questions of the experts? I'm a novelist doing a story that revolves around a band and desparately need inside research material to make it as authentic as possible. As you can tell, I'm not a musician, but I'm truly music-obsessed. My brother-in-law is in a band, but he's in a different state so I can't be a "roadie" with him as I'd like :-( I have thrown questions at him, though. If you want to check out my validity, you can find some of my work here: www.elucidations.us/writing.htm

Yes, you are more than welcome to visit as often as you like and certainly feel free to ask any questions you wish about bands or playing in bands. Hopefully you wont be too shocked by some of the answers that you may receive from "musicians". I have met many who are nothing but straight business, and devoted to the art. Then there are the "Motley Crue" types who are known for being a bit on the wildside. So feel free to post, or read messages, and feel free to be specific if asking questions. Thanks for joining the forum. Admin

Thanks ;D And I don't shock that easily, but I appreciate the warning and will filter what I need. I passed on the link to someone I know working on learning the guitar, too.
