Just Switched from De Marzio Passive pups to a set of EMG Active Pups
They were places in an ernie Ball Silouette which has two pair of humbuckers at the neck and bridge , with a single pole pup in the middle.
I wanted to be able to turn on all 3 sets of pups at the same time. Since a 5 position switch is usually briidge bridge and middle middle neck and middle neck
A additional toggle switch was needed to get bridge middle and neck the switch was wired so that the bridge pup could be toggles on at any time no matter what was the position of the of the 5 position seitch
Active EMG pups have a pre amp built into the pup running off a 9 volt battery. The pre amp kicks up the output more sustain louder less magnatism to affect the strings the pups put the guitar on steroids A $200 upgrade that kicks
The Ernie Ball company put out some high quality guitars until recently. Compared to a Gibson They are very different types of guitars, yje hollow body gibson is a nellow blues instrument The Ernia Ball is more radical and versitile in the pursute of rock, pop, acid, ryc The price ranges are similar.
I had been playing a strat, The EB was moch smoother, faster action, easier to play. The strat would tire me out after a few hours the Ernie ball I can play for 6[8 hours without fatigue.
