What are frets? They keep coming up, and i don't know how to use them, i don't understand them! I VERY!!! new to using a guitar, so if you could help it would SO great!! ;D

The frets are the metal bars that are found on the neck of the guitar. Most guitars have dots (position markers) that tell you which frets your on. The first dot is the 3rd fret, the 2nd dot is the 5th fret, the 3rd dot marks the 7th fret and the 4th dot marks the 9th fret, and the double dots that are are aligined together mark the 12th fret.
