I recently purchased a pack of D'Addario 10s for my Fender Strat and something very odd happened. I started to remove the grime ridden strings that were still clinging to my strat and took the new strings out of their packaging to be layed on. I did everything the way I normally do things when I change strings on one of my guitars. Things such as, making sure there is enough slack, using a winding key, stretching the strings and so on and so forth. The weird thing was that when I finished, my guitar was in perfect tune! I mean PERFECT TUNE. I was floored! Never before in my entire life had I experienced something this radical. I was in awe. The other thing that really shocked me was that it was my Stratocaster that was doing this. I wouldn't have been as surprised if it were my 63' Tele because those are known to stay in tune very well. But it was my Strat! A normal, late 90's Mexican Fender Stratocaster. I don't know if my strat was made well for some reason or is just some anonymous relic but it deffinately came as a surprise to me when I was able to throw the strings on, run upstairs and crank Voodoo Child for half an hour and not have to stop to tune half way through. Needless to say, I'm keeping my Strat until the day I die. If anyone has a weird or just plain impossible story, please post it. -GuitarExodus
