Hey everyone,
Here is something about learning scales I would like to share with you.
First of all let me define the chromatic scale. It is all twelve notes played in order: A, Bb, B, C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, Ab....
------------------------------------------------------------------5-6-7-8-9 -----------------------------------------------------5-6-7-8-9--------------- -------------------------------------------5-6-7-8------------------------------- ------------------------------5-6-7-8-9------------------------------------------ --------------5-6-7-8-9--------------------------------------------------------- 5-6-7-8-9---------------------------------------------------------------------
Use the index finger at the fifth fret, slide the pinky down to reach the ninth fret. On the third string only play up to the eighth fret. You now have all notes from A to C#. Pick out the notes you need to make the scale you need.
